"You go to Mexico to get away with most of the prejudices - and what do they play everywhere? Mariachi, Mariachi, Mariachi. Ahhhh."
After having a very good tour yesterday we decided to take the next one today - a Trip to Mitla. The day did not start as well as the day before, the Van had one passenger too much and both of us did feel some antipathy for this days tour guide...
The first stop today was the really huge (and more than 2000years old) Tule tree - about 40m high and 50m extent (tough wikipedia has different values). One of the other guides said "This tree is like a Mexican: more extent than height". It's impressive huge.
After that tree we had a (much too long and boring) visit in a random weaving mill, showing how some people work. The part how they got their colors, at least in the past, was interesting, the rest, including the commercial 20 minutes could have been used for something better.
Finally in Mitla we got split between English and Spanish speaking people, so we had another guide in Mitla. He made a very interesting Tour there, after which we visitited the tomb. Was not that easy for me, as even those small Mexicans need to bend down a lot here, but was good nonetheless.
Later in the evening we tried to met the others again - and this day we were successful. So we went to get some food (no pizza) and then visited some other bar. Was good, but way too loud, so we left early.
PS: Whats up with this damn insects in Oaxaca? NO insect bites in Helsinki, Oaxatepec and nearly never at home for me (well, at maximum one a summer). But in Oaxaca, where I was only 3 days, this damn, disrespectful beasts had ignored the rule to not annoy me over 90 times! DAMN INSECTS.
